Win a flight on a Tiger Moth

How's this for an amazing Christmas present? To mark the launch of our World War I exhibition, 'For King and Country', we've partnered with a local enthusiast to give one person the chance to take to the air in a vintage Tiger Moth biplane for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

One lucky winner will take to the skies alongside an experienced pilot for a 30 minute flight. Taking off from an air strip near Retford in Nottinghamshire, you'll experience all the excitement of a flight in this 80 year old biplane. Plus, by entering the draw to win this amazing prize, you'll be supporting the National Emergency Services Museum and helping us to continue our work as a self-funded, independent museum celebrating all our emergency services.

To be in with a chance of winning, click the button above and make a donation of at least £5 between 9am on Friday 12 November and 5pm on Wednesday 15 December 2021. On Thursday 16 December we'll pick a name at random from all those who have donated during the qualifying period and that lucky person will grab the flight of a lifetime. We'll get in touch with the winner via the contact details provided with the donation no later than 5pm on Friday 17 December 2021.

Please make sure you read the terms and conditions below before entering. Good luck!

Terms and conditions

The trip will last for approximately 30 minutes and will take off and land from a farm strip near Retford, Nottinghamshire. The winner must provide their own transport to and from the strip.

Maximum passenger weight is 17 stones. The passenger must be agile enough to use a small step ladder to access the plane (similar to climbing on to the wing).

The flight will operate on a mutually convenient day and is weather dependant. Arrangements should be made directly between the pilot and the prize winner; the National Emergency Services Museum is only responsible for putting the two parties in touch. There is no expiry date on the prize.

You must be contactable on Thursday 16 December and Friday 17 December via the details left with your donation. If we are unable to contact you before 5pm on Friday you will forfeit the prize and it will be offered to another person.
