Making Faces:
Skulls, science and sculpture -
children's workshop

Friday 6 August 2021
Workshop running from 11:00 - 12:00

Pre-booking required. £4 per child, additional to museum entry.

This workshop has been designed especially around engaging young children but we think it is best suited to children ages 10+.

Is your little one science or medicine mad? Looking for something exciting and unique to entertain them during the summer holidays?

Well look no further, Forensic Anthropologist Dr Chris Aris will be running an exclusive, practical workshop for ages 8+ to get hands on with the most exciting parts of forensic investigation!

In this session the children will discover what human bones and skulls can tell a forensic scientist. From how to identify male and female skulls using cast replicas to reconstructing a human face in clay this session will offer a rare opportunity for children to get hands-on under the guidance of expert Dr Chris. After they’ve reconstructed their human face using the information they’ve gathered they can then take their creations home with them.

This session promotes STEM learning.
